Leadership – Creating a Movement

Leadership is the process whereby individuals influence other individuals to achieve a common goal.

The leadership development market is worth over $50 billion in the US.

Leadership definitions encompass the leadership process, individual personalities or behavioral perspectives. Titles such as transformational leader, authentic leader or  situational leader are merely labels for the approaches or theories people utilize in their quest to be the perfect leader.

Something which doesn’t exist no matter how many billions people spend on leadership development. Much more importantly, as this video shows, leaders need to embrace, support and welcome their followers into the movement.

By giving people direction, support and recognition individuals, such as this lone dancer, can become the leaders of movements.

Think about how you can apply these principles next time you are leading a project or team in your organisation.
